What was your favorite game to play at the arcade while you were growing up? Was it a videogame, a pinball machine, air hockey, or maybe Skee-Ball? Is that game still your favorite today?
Ever since I was born, I spent my summers surrounded by pinball, pool, air hockey, and various arcade machines. I started playing as soon as I was old enough to stand on a stool to reach the controls.
I remember the Skylab pinball machine as my very first favorite. It even came out before most video arcade games. I loved its looping captured ball feature!
As I got older, I found myself dropping the most quarters on both the Space Invaders pinball machine and the Operation Wolf arcade game. I enjoyed them so much that I eventually purchased my own Space Invaders pinball machine, and I even arranged for an Operation Wolf machine at an office where I once worked.
These days, my favorite is the Twilight Zone pinball machine, which I also ended up buying—so now I don’t need to spend any more quarters... 😆
What about you? What was your favorite arcade game growing up?
