FPS mode works fine enough but for something akin to "wiimote and nunchuck style" aiming, it needs to translate gyro to raw mouse input, and the buttons to keyboard inputs (Since some games auto-swap inputs based on whether or not the gamepad or mouse is active.) The split controller layout is perfect but the software implementation doesn't allow for that method of input.
A map-able button to toggle mouse gyro would also help a lot to prevent issues when navigating the desktop with the trackpad or sticks with gyro interfering, though gyro could also be used independently almost like a wiimote pointer this way.
Using gyro as it's implemented currently doesn't work because it has to emulate stick flicks and the minimum distance covered jumps around your target when trying to be precise in FPS titles.
Please allow gamepad as mouse and keyboard + gyro as mouse!
