Is Mario and Luigi Brothership good?

I've seen reviews and they are not great for the game. It is still Mario though and heck I just saw an ad for it on Nickelodeon while my kids were watching TV. So maybe it is a great game for kids (like my 9 year old) and I can still have some fun too?
