@DoctorEldritch 😂😂. No worries. We all have slow days. I like peanut brittle sweets a lot. It's on of my favourite snacks.

The fried broad beans look yummy. I never had an opportunity to eat them. I don't think they are available here.

Radishes on the other hand I consume monthly. I like to enjoy them thinly sliced and sprinkled with Aromat. 🙂

Sure a thread about best snacks sounds great 😃

@DracoTarot Ah, sweet peanut snacks would work better, I like peanut sherbet:

To be honest, I am not sure about their availability; they are not widespread where I live either. I got a taste for them back when I was working in Myanmar about 10 years ago, and now I periodically import some from there. In South Africa, maybe 21food would sell them?

I take my radishes whole raw, with a small dip of salt. What sort of Aromat are you using? I hear there may be several, and they differ slightly.

@DoctorEldritch Atomic heart 2 is on top of my list. What I've seen so far does look great and I agree it seems a lot of effort was put in to make things as realistic as possible.

@DracoTarot Have you played the first Atomic Heart? It is on my list, but there is one more DLC coming that I am waiting for before I can play it.

@DoctorEldritch Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a great one 😄 So huh, no wonder Silksong decided to show up in the strangest way possible 🤯 It was like someone mind controlled Phil Spencer into including that Silksong snippet in the ROG Ally segment. That was a truly Eldritch marketing move (and even stranger marketing from Team Cherry after that 😆). Without revealing too much, my birthday is quite close to yours (fellow June bros 🤝), so I’ll take teeny tiny credit for that Stranger than Heaven reveal 😂 Next year, we combine our powers and make Half Life 3 a reality 💪

Oooh I missed the Mundfish presentation! Thanks for sharing. I’ll definitely give it a watch later.

@ZaidH Thank you 😊 It was ok, I celebrated it in an old castle that was converted into a hotel.

Well, Silksong has transcended the normal "delayed" status all the way to the meme zone, along with Bloodlines 2. It was high time for them to try and do something about it 😅

Ah, congratulations! June is a nice month for birthdays. Maybe even the best one of them all 😉

Chances are we will hear something about Half-Life 3 before then, one may hope. There are hints and rumours going around about it, only a matter of time before something more substantial surfaces.

Mundfish had some interesting bits. Though that whole weekend was filled with news to the brim, I am still going through all of them.

@DoctorEldritch My apologies. I didn't know you had a birthday. Well, happy birthday and I hope you had a wonderful time.

Those peanut sherbet also look divine. They resemble fudge squares. On a weekday basis I help out two elderly people with their business called Little Candy Kitchen. They mostly supply Spar stores and butcheries. I have my weekly sugar rush when I'm at their house. 🙂

Yeah, finding something delicious goods is sometimes a mission. I can order online from overseas but imagine the price tag for the shipping and customs clearance.

I use the original Aromat and sometimes I will also try the cheese and chilli one. 🙂

@DoctorEldritch I've played the first one and enjoyed the game a lot. That's why I won't skip number two.

@DracoTarot No need to apologise, I don't think I ever mentioned it before. It was good, this year I spent it with my brother, sister in law and niece.

Peanut sherbet is nice, but it is harder than fudge squares, they are more chewy, and sometimes you get pieces of peanuts or even whole nuts mixed in.

Sadly, this is one of the few products that my homeland's main chocolate factory can still do well. They used to make good confectioneries, but then they replaced something in the formula of their chocolate, and now it tastes off to me. Sad. But the moral of the story is, it is good that you're helping the elderly with their Little Candy Kitchen, and make sure that they do not change recipes that work 😊

True, but then, when you find something, you start to value it all the more. For example, I like Royal Family Plum Jelly, also from my time in Myanmar. But I could not find it anywhere here, and even ordering it from there is increasingly difficult....

But I thought 21food operated in South Africa? It still has all those fees?

I can get behind original Aromat, though I gravitate more towards historic spice mixes more, like Shichimi, Panch phoron or Five-spice powder, you know, things that have been around for a while (not to say that Aromat is that new either, it is quite an old mix by now). But I'm wary of powdered cheese and powdered dairy in general, don't know why. I like condensed milk fine, but powdered is a bit...let's say, less appetising. Don't know why.

Ah, but the first one is still waiting for the final DLC. It is on my list, but I only want to play it after that last one is out.

@DoctorEldritch Holy moly that sounds so fun! Aside from food, what other activities do they have in venues like this?

There are hints and rumours going around about it
You know what else was going around? Gabe Newell’s yacht 😂 Right around SGF, people were literally tracking his yacht, Rocinante, and estimating how close he was to LA. Scary stuff ngl 😬

@ZaidH It varies venue to venue, this specific one also had a nice spa. Then there is all the countryside, of course, those old buildings were usually built in nice places with beautiful nature and gardens around.

Rocinante as a yacht name is...well, no wonder asking for Half-Life 3 sometimes feels like tilting at windmills 😅
